The World Swimming Federation approved his time. Srihari became only the second Indian swimmer ever to achieve a direct 'A' cut. Sajan Prakash had done it just a few days before him.

Srihari went to the Tokyo Olympics in July 2021. He swam in the men's 100m backstroke heats. He clocked 54.31 seconds. He finished 27th overall. He could not reach the semifinals. But swimming on the Olympic stage was a big honor for him and India.
